Started in June 2003, we were first known as areyoupregnant.emommie.com. The website was a free site and we began selling pregnancy test strips for $.50 each with free shipping to anyone who inquired. It was a business/ministry to help families on a budget test when they wanted to without having to pay $10-$15 a test at the doctor’s office or at your local drug store. We didn’t make much in those first days, only about $25 a month, but we knew we were helping many families. In April 2004, 7 weeks after the birth of my daughter Amelia, I had an unfortunate accident with an unsterilized needle and a bad staff infection which nearly cost me my life. The whole experience was frightening for our family and although I would like to have many more children my husband wasn't so sure that was in God's plan. I mourned and grieved bitterly at my loss. I did not want Amelia to be my last baby. Running an online business that celebrated new birth was really hard to continue, and I almost shut it all down.

In May 2004, I received a phone call from Nancy Campbell, editor of Above Rubies Magazine. She wanted to know if I was still selling pregnancy tests. She wanted to share with her readers that we were here but the magazine has a policy that it does not advertise. However, if a reader writes a story and it gets published, information about the reader’s family and family business can be put at the bottom of the story. Nancy wanted to know if we had a story to share.

Boy, did we!!!

A Second Chance to Watch The Roses Bloom was printed in Issue #61 of Above Rubies in July 2004. The magazine went international and so did our business. We give God the glory. We were never meant to quit, God was just showing us he had different plans for us.

Another blessing now offers: pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, homeschool books, cookbooks and a host of other Christian and Family products through our online affiliates and partners, all of us striving to help families meet their needs within their budget.

I love my job!. I love being a mom and at Keeper at home. I love homeschooling and sharing my love and my life with the children God blesses me with, and I want to continue doing it. A good friend reminded me, "Amy, God loves you and he wants to give you the desires of your heart." (Thank you, Barry.)
